frequently asked questions

What will it cost us to join and participate in the GO for GOLD scheme?

We fund and supply everything that is required for you to carry out the scheme from start to finish.

How much could we raise?

This will depend on the amount of gold that is collected and the enthusiasm of the people involved in the fundraise toward the scheme.

Is there a minimum amount of gold that has to be collected?

No, we will accept any quantity that you collect no matter how small.

What do we do with the collected gold?

If you choose to join the scheme, all we ask is that you return your collected gold to us.

How do we return our collected gold to you?

Like most gold merchants we use Royal Mail first response this is next day, recorded delivery, and all goods are insured to the value of £1000.00. We will pay for and provide everything required to do this.

How do we know that what we have collected is gold?

When we receive your collection we will weigh it. We will then sort and test the metal to establish its gold content. Once this has been verified we will inform you of

1. The total weight we received.
2. The weight of gold received.
3. The weight of any non gold item.
4. The value of your gold.

Anything that is not gold will be returned to you if wish along with your payment.

How is the value of the gold established?

The value is determined by the Price of gold at the point of sale. Through our network of established and reputable gold merchants we negotiate the best price possible. We are currently achieving a value of approximately 94.5% of the gold price on the day. You receive up to 70% of the value we receive

Weight Percentage of the value you receive on the total gold weight. Estimated number of envelopes returned to achieve weight
Up to 25 grams 50% 2-4
Up to 50 grams 60% 4-6
Over 50 grams 70% Over 6

How quickly will we receive our cheque?

Normally within 5 working days of us receiving your gold envelopes.

What We Do

One of the most important factors in fund raising is to try to have new ideas; GO 4 GOLD is just that. It doesn’t ask people for money, it doesn’t ask them to participate in any activity or function; all it asks is for them to donate something that they don’t want, broken gold jewellery.
